“The perfect b&b”
Reviewed 6 days ago NEW via mobile
My husband and I recently stayed at Beechwood whilst visiting East Sussex for the first time. I have to say that we picked the most amazingly luxurious accommodation. It was by far the best place we’ve ever stayed in. We stayed in the Sapphire Room (all rooms are named after gemstones and it’s easy to see why,) which has the most inviting private shower room just across the landing. The room itself is furnished with the greatest attention to detail with everything anyone could wish for in a top class b&b. Carol and Ceri even dressing gowns and slippers to add to the overall comfort and the room is incredibly tastefully decorated. The shower was the most luxurious power shower and Des, my husband, didn’t want to get out. I especially liked the classy toiletries provided. The bed was sumptuous and obviously of the highest quality and we both, unusually for us when travelling had the perfect nights sleep. We were very warmly welcomed with a lovely pot of tea and biscuits upon arrival and Carol and Ceri are especially good at making you feel so welcome. They engage fully with all of the guests, showing great interest in what we do and where we live. They were also very knowledgable about East Sussex and the places we would be interested in visiting. The advise they gave was spot on, to the point of helping us avoid roadworks. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. There is a comprehensive menu to choose from the night before and when you state your preferred breakfast time, you can guarantee that it will be freshly cooked for you. I chose eggs benedict and Des had smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. The poached eggs were perfect and Carol and Ceri even passed on their cooking tips, there is everything set out at breakfast and the range of cereals, jams, fruits etc is astonishing. Breakfast is served in the conservatory, overlooking their beautiful garden, which they said they tend to. You can watch the birds pecking at the seed and nutholders and their lovely friendly dogs wander around and don’t make a sound.in all we do can will definitely be returning for more of the 5 star treatment. Beechwood deserves all of the many awards that they’ve received and Carol and Ceri work incredibly hard to make sure that everyone gets a 5 star stay.
